2011 TRAINING EVENTS

 

We are planning a range of training events leading up to the Etape du Tour.


MARCH

 

Sunday 20th March
Social & training ride in the Chiltons
Ride over the hills in the beautiful Chiltern countryside
Tea and cakes in Henley
This event will only take place if there is no snow on the roads!

APRIL

 

17th to 23rd April
Training in the Auvergne region of France THIS EVENT IS NOW FULL
Once again Pascal will be leading training rides from his own accomodation
Includes 6 nights, 5 sorties of 100-150k, 5 evening meals and breakfast.
A bargain at 249! Pascal's first language is English.
All meals hearty with no scrimping on carbs!

MAY
Early May Bank Holiday 30th April - 2nd May

Etape training in Snowdonia

Practice Mountain riding in North Wales.

Saturday 14th May
Box Hill and Leith Hill
Starting at Staines Bridge, we will ride 60 - 70 miles to Cranleigh (via hills), eat banana or have some tiffin then come back via some more hills!

 

12th to 16th May
Mountain Training for the Alpine Stage France
British Cycling coach Steve is leading a mountain training camp in the Pyrenees to prepare you for the Alpine stage of the Etape du Tour.
The four day event will include Tourmalet and Luz Ardiden to simulate the Alpine Etape.
Steve was in the top 1% of finishers in the 2009 and 2010 Etapes.
