The 2016 Etape route is a good one, with some superb mountains.

The scenery in this part of the Alps is spectacular

After leaving the valley town of Megeve, an undulating section follows, before we ascend around 500 metres to the Col de Aravis.

The descent of Aravis has been described as hair raising yet graceful, and takes us to the foot of the second climb.

After about 600m of climbing we arrive at the second peak, the Col de la Colombiere.

There is a certain feeling of expectation as riders start to descend from the Col de Colombiere!

The descent from Col de Colombiere is a little trickier than the Aravis descent!

Crossing the relatively flat landscape which follows, we pass the half way mark, then climb 1000m to the Col de Ramaz. The views in this area are spectacular!

A descent of around 700m follows, followed by a flattish section time to recover before the final climb to Col de Joux Plane..then descent to the finish at Morzine!
